Green Data Systems (GDS) develops together with 2 partners the Greenest DataCenter in Europe. GDS introduces an unique energy saving and sustainable DataCenter. The facility incorporates power-efficient data center technology designed to achieve a benchmarking rating of under 1.2 PUE (power usage effectiveness), while offering a high level of reliability, availability and data security.
The data center offers customers a full range of flexible operations management services, including storage management, disaster recovery, client services and hosting with a centrally managed and prompt troubleshooting service to help enterprises align the operation and management of information systems in a way that lowers the total cost of ownership, streamlines operations and contributes to the overall business strategy.
The basis of the greenest datacenter in Europe is Lake Source Cooling and sustainable bio mass usage. GDS will offer customers managed services based on Utility Based Computing and offerings are based on payment for usage.
With Green Data Systems, organizations require fewer storage devices and ultimately, less electricity and space, which results in immediate improvements to the overall economics of managing storage.
In addition, the data center marks another milestone in support of Green Data Systems’ ongoing green projects which are aimed at reducing carbon emissions and cutting down power consumption by as much as 50% by 2012.
